Empowering a new generation of Americans
Founded more than 35 years ago as a haven for immigrants and refugees, HUF has grown to serve diverse and multi-cultural working families from the United States as well as more than 25 other countries. We provide a diverse range of wrap-around services to help clients of all ages, from preschoolers to adults, successfully transition to a productive new life.
A. HUF is a private, Human Services Agency / 501(c) (3). The agency is an affiliate member of UnidosUS (www.UnidosUS.org), the premier largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States.
A. HUF is governed by a 16-21 member Board of Directors. Meet HUF’s volunteer leaders.
A. HUF is fortunate to have very hands-on and engaged board members. Every board member is involved in one of HUF’s Standing Committees: Finance, Audit, Program and Marketing, Fund Development and Advocacy as well as ad-hoc committees such as Strategic Planning or Facilities.
HUF committees are robust and meet on a monthly basis. The committees are chaired by HUF board members and include very talented community experts/leaders in their respective fields. Meet our other HUF Committee Volunteers (non-Board Members) who also serve as members.

A. HUF is proud to have very low overhead. According to our 990 Reports (over a five-year period);90-92% of HUF’s funds go directly to the program area.
