Kenny and Sandy Tate

“Sandy and I have greatly benefited from relationships within our local community and, as such, we feel strongly about giving back and supporting the most worthwhile causes. Hispanic Unity of Florida exemplifies that commitment to our community by helping those in most need to more quickly acclimate and realize the many benefits that our community has to offer. By providing this desperately needed service, HUF allows us all to benefit.”

Kenny and Sandy Tate support the Unity 4Kids early learning center with scholarship funds. In 2017, the Tate Family Foundation - a fund at the Community Foundation of Broward - generously provided a $35,000 matching grant for HUF's Bridge Program. HUF's Board of Directors accepted the challenge to raise funds for this grant and used this special occasion to launch the Circle of Friends. We are deeply grateful to the Tate Family for supporting a program that helps clients receive job training and job placement for 21st century careers, as well as creating a springboard for HUF's individual giving program.

Hispanic Unity of Florida: Client Stories

Hispanic Unity was founded more than 34 years ago by community leaders to ease the acculturation transition for newcomers from other nations. Today this nonprofit provides assistance through 12 programs and 30+ services, in four languages, to Broward's diverse community. Hispanic Unity remains the county's largest agency dedicated to the immigrant population, providing them with the tools they need to build a new life. In 2015, the agency served 17,000+ clients, from toddlers to adults.
